The Sixth Seal
The Sixth Seal — Jay Zinn
Many complexities surround the events preceding the Second Coming of Christ. It stirs questions, emotions, and contradictions in us about God and his actions. Why does it happen, when will it happen, and why is it necessary?
Of course, we hope we are not around when these things come on the earth, but what if we are? Will we be prepared, and will our children be ready? The prophets in the Old and New Testaments—including Jesus—warned God’s people of future disasters and judgments. Such warnings serve to instill vigilance and a state of mind that fully trusts in God during times like these.
My best understanding (from my studies in Revelation) sees the first five seals already opened and intensified as time progresses. The 20th century alone saw horrific wars and death on a global scale under the second seal of the Red Horse—i.e., the Spirit of War. This seal, too, remains open and will culminate at the final battle of Armageddon (Revelation 16:12-18; 19:11-21).
The fifth seal of martyrdom was opened in the first century and will culminate under the regime of the Antichrist and his one-world rule. Untold millions of saints will die at his hand (Daniel 7:25; Revelation 6:9-11; 7:9-17; 12:11; 13:5-7, 15; 15:2; 17:6; 18:24). This fifth seal continues today throughout the world. Open Doors (a research organization on global persecution) reported in 2014 that each month 322 Christians are killed for their faith, 214 churches and properties are destroyed, and 772 forms of violence are committed against Christians. Those statistics have increased significantly in the last six years and continue to rise.
Because the first five seals are not “moments” in time but progressively increasing, it’s easy to go about our lives unaware of the fallout of these seals. Again, the Corona Virus comes under the fourth seal of pestilence and plagues. This particular plague has gotten our attention because it’s larger than anything the world has experienced at the same time together. Unlike the first five seals, the sixth seal will go further and not be easily swept under the rug, for it will be a supernatural act of God no one can deny.
The sixth seal will be the “sign” of the Son of Man (Matthew 24:30). It releases a monstrous global earthquake, followed by the sun turning dark, the moon turning blood red, and a deluge of meteorite showers rocketing through earth’s atmosphere like fireworks.
These cataclysmic signs will create enough urgency among the nations to award a ten-kingdom alliance of countries with full authority to establish a one-world government. Most people are unaware this is already in the works behind the scenes among influential people and ideologues planning for a new world order. Their obsession with this is generated by the spirit of the Antichrist already at work in the world (1 John 4:2).
The events and developments surrounding the coronavirus provide us with front row seats to witness how quickly a new world order could come about when governments impose variations of martial law to control global calamities. How much more will martial law be levied and accelerated in the aftermath of an earthquake that rocks the world?
Are we witnessing the end times? It’s possible, yes. But if it’s still decades down the road, we’re at least getting a foretaste of what it could look like and how fast things can change in a matter of days, weeks, and months.
David, the shepherd, was trained and equipped by God for Goliath. First, by encountering a lion, second, by facing a bear. He slew them both and went on to face Goliath as an experienced warrior.
The Antichrist will be our Goliath, but the battle will be in our minds and hearts before the ultimate conflict comes. Perhaps this fight we have with this coronavirus is the lion preparing us for the bear before we face the sixth seal and the rise of a one-world government under the Antichrist. Are we ready for that? Are we vigilant in these times to prepare our hearts to stand firm in the face of trouble beyond anything we’ve ever imagined or experienced and run into God as our refuge and strong tower?
Let’s train ourselves in this time, examine our hearts and minds, shine our lights brightly and be watchful for the return of the Lord (Mark 13:32-37; 1 Thessalonians 5:1-8; 1 Peter 5:8-9).
Blessings to you all. The Lord is with us and will never leave us or forsake us.
