Jay Zinn became a Christian, January 9, 1972, while serving in the U.S. Air Force at Eglin AFB in Florida. During a month-long mission trip to Nicaragua (January 1973), a calling began to stir in his heart and was later confirmed in prayer one afternoon in the woods. Several weeks later, Jay received orders for a new assignment at Elmendorf Air Force base in Anchorage, Alaska. Off base, God placed him in a charismatic church with strong teaching and discipleship. It was there the Lord equipped and trained him for ministry.
Three years later, after an honorable discharge from the Air Force, the elders of that church ordained Jay as a pastor and sent him and his wife, Roseann, to plant his first church in Fort Walton Beach, Florida (1976-1983). Later, over the years, Jay went on to plant and pastor two other churches.
Jay has 45 years of pastoral and teaching ministry. Today he concentrates his efforts and attention on making disciples who make disciples through his Discipleship Group system and curriculum.
On an average of once a year, Jay travels to other countries to speak at pastor’s conferences and equip their churches to raise future generations of indigenous church planters through discipleship. He also serves, in an advisory capacity, as a coach and mentor to pastors and spiritual leaders.
On a personal note, Jay holds the degrees of a B.A. in Biblical Studies, a Master’s in Theology, a Doctorate of Ministry, and a Ph.D. in Theology through Logos University in Jacksonville, Florida. He is also a published author of twelve books, including his 1997 bestselling novel, The Unveiling. Two of his books (non-fiction) sell on Amazon.com: Countdown to Eternity—Concise Account of Revelation’s Events Leading Up to the Second Coming and In the Light of Eternity—Life After Jesus Returns and Beyond.
Jay and his bride, Roseann, have been married since 1974 and reside in North Carolina. They have two adult children, two granddaughters, and a great-granddaughter.
